The Baia Mare Urban System was established as an Intercommunity Development Association. It is formed of 15 localities bordering the city of Baia Mare, which signed an association agreement concerning the sustainable development of the region.
The main objectives of this cooperation are:
- Create an economic growth pole for providing support in attracting investments
- Improve the quality of life and eliminate the imbalances between the localities
- Create an attractive destination on the European multicultural scene
